During my residency at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, I explored the fascinating technique of salt firing, crafting a series of tumblers that merge functionality with artistic expression. Each piece embodies the unpredictable yet enchanting qualities of this firing process, where salt reacts with the clay body and glazes, creating unique textures and subtle, organic color variations.
